Spiced Cranberry–Orange Sparkler

“You won’t know that you’re not drinking alcohol with this sparkler. Cranberry juice is protective of the urinary tract, supports heart health and provides heaps of vitamin C to boost the immune system. The cinnamon and star anise add a Christmassy flavour alongside blood-sugar balancing and anti-inflammatory properties,” says Alexa Mullane.

Ingredients

  • 200ml pure unsweetened cranberry juice
  • 200ml sparkling water
  • 100ml freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 2 star anise
  • Orange peel, to serve

Method

  1. Warm the cranberry juice gently with the cinnamon stick and star anise for 5 minutes. 
  2. Cool completely, then mix with orange juice. 
  3. Pour over ice and top with sparkling water. Garnish with orange peel.
