Em Austen is the founder and CEO of EMERGE, an award winning PR Agency she started in 2012, and author of bestseller SMARTER, 10 Lessons for a More Productive and Less Stressed Life. Emily Austen’s Smarter has transformed the cliche “work smarter, not harder” into a practical cultural movement. Now launched in the U.S. across Walmart, Target, Barnes and Noble, and Hudson’s, the book is a blueprint for achieving more without hitting burnout. Since its UK release in late 2024, it has sold tens of thousands of copies, topped Amazon’s charts in business and career categories, and been translated into multiple languages including Japanese, Polish, and Vietnamese.
Celebrities have embraced it too, Sophie Turner requested a copy after hearing the audiobook, Julia Roberts had one delivered to her trailer, and Jessica Alba was seen reading it at Wimbledon. The Daily Mail even highlighted its adoption by Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Bella Hadid. Em has guest lectured at Harvard University, is the Strategic PR Advisor to UN Women UK and has a diploma in Venture plus Finance from Saïd, Oxford University.
