Ros Heathcote founded Borough Broth after experiencing personal health challenges, leading her back to the nourishing chicken soup of her childhood, inspired by a recipe from her great-grandmother’s cookery book. Guided by a nutritionist, she began making organic bone broth at home, sourcing bones from a local butcher and transforming ingredients otherwise destined for waste into restorative, sustainable food. Borrowing £6,000 from a friend, she rented a small East London kitchen and began producing organic bone broth using ingredients from British farms.
Today, Borough Broth is one of the UK’s fastest-growing organic, B Corp–certified and women-built food brands, stocked nationwide in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Planet Organic. Its high-protein, collagen-rich broths are used for cooking, sipping and functional wellness, meeting rising demand for healthy, convenient meals.
