The Most Beautiful Tennis Courts In The World Worth Travelling For
A cliff-side court on the Amalfi Coast. A grass court on a private Indonesian island. Two hard courts in the Maldives with the Indian Ocean as your backdrop. Inspired by Wimbledon, we rounded up the most beautiful tennis courts in the world, and some of them come with rather special guests.
With Wimbledon underway, the annual fascination with tennis has hit its peak once again. So, while we're collectively either picking up rusty racquets for the first time since school, or perfecting a serve for the seventeen-hundredth time for the more serious players among us, the search is on for the most beautiful tennis courts in the world. And it seems there's no shortage of options, although you may have to travel a little to find the truly spectacular ones.
Take Il San Pietro di Positano's Amalfi Coast cliff court, Bawah Reserve's Indonesian island grass court and Singita Sasakwa Lodge's safari court, where yes, there's a very real chance an elephant, zebra or antelope might join you mid-rally, as just a handful of examples of the kinds of courts well worth the flight. All with views considerably more exciting than your local leisure centre. Unless you're living somewhere particularly exciting, in which case, do share.
From sea-facing serves to jungle canopy shade, scroll below for our edit of the most beautiful tennis courts to add to your travel bucket list. Plus, there are some rather special surprise guests lined up for bookable tennis bootcamps. Anyone fancy facing Jamie Murray at D Maris Bay in Türkiye?

Soneva Fushi, Maldives
Any avid tennis or travel fan has probably seen the Soneva Fushi tennis court almost too many times by now. It's a mainstay on every great tennis court list, but it really is a beauty. From the 21st to 31st July, you'll find 22 Grand Slam title holder Todd Woodbridge leading exclusive coaching sessions.
Hôtel Cap Estel, Côte d'Azur, France
With only 20 rooms, Hôtel Cap Estel prides itself on outstanding service and a quiet environment, so you almost certainly won't have to queue for a slot on the tennis court. Though you might find yourself distracted by the view. Sat just above the Mediterranean, it's said to give the impression of almost playing on the water, with the sound of the waves providing the playlist.
Coral Sands Harbour Island, The Bahamas
A pink tennis court isn't exactly an everyday sight, though nor are the white sands, turquoise waters and shell-encrusted décor of Coral Sands on Harbour Island. So, it feels entirely fitting for this bold Bahamian destination. Padel, pickleball and basketball are also on offer in the same space, meaning there is no shortage of ways to stay active.
Hôtel Barrière L'Hôtel du Golf, Deauville, France
As the name suggests, Hôtel Barrière L'Hôtel du Golf may first draw you in for golf, but that is far from its only sporting appeal. Three clay tennis courts sit just beside the Anglo-Norman mansion, offering the perfect way to get the heart rate up before heading to the holes.

Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, Antibes, France
Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc has been synonymous with old-school French Riviera luxury since 1870, hosting A-listers, artists and royalty from around the world, and the tennis courts are no exception to that standard. Five clay courts hide beneath pine trees at the back of the property, and for those who prefer a faster pace, pickleball is also on offer.
Jumeirah Olhahali Island, Maldives
The focus of any Maldivian property is always the ocean, and watersports are plentiful at Jumeirah Olhahali Island. But the resort has also dedicated some precious beach space to an oceanfront tennis court. Every Wednesday they host a complimentary kids' tennis club, while adults can get together for a social rally on Friday afternoons. You might even make a friend across the net.
Il San Pietro di Positano, Amalfi Coast, Italy
Sunrise Pilates, an outdoor gym and beautiful balconies all make the most of the stunning Amalfi Coast scenery at Il San Pietro di Positano, but none are quite as striking as the tennis court. Built within an alcove overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. While you might want a casual rally to really savour the view, a coach is available upon request should you want to learn more in the process.
Singita Sasakwa Lodge, Serengeti National Park, Tanzania
You might expect to spot a lion, elephant or giraffe on safari, but did you think you would see one mid-serve? At Singita Sasakwa Lodge, that is far from unheard of. Perched atop Sasakwa Hill with sweeping views across the Serengeti plains, the lodge's two tennis courts offer both a hard and a clay surface, alongside the very real possibility of a game-stopping wildlife sighting. Just try not to get too absorbed in the match. You wouldn't want to miss something extraordinary happening on the other side of the net.

Hôtel Barrière Le Royal La Baule, France
With 24 courts spanning clay, artificial grass and covered surfaces, plus an impressive number of padel courts, Hôtel Barrière Le Royal La Baule is the destination for anyone who wants to spend serious time with a racquet. A team of French Tennis Federation coaches are on hand to help improve your game, whether you are staying at the hotel or hold a yearly membership, and there is even a five-day bootcamp for those wanting to genuinely train. It's also, helpfully, just a short walk from the beach. Unsurprisingly, it's considered one of the best clubs in France, especially with this season's Lacoste-inspired redesign.
The Brando, French Polynesia
Nestled within the Tetiaroa atoll, a ring of twelve jungle-dense islands surrounded by crystal-clear seas, there is no real limit to the activities available to guests at The Brando. Bird watching, kayaking, deep-sea diving, weaving lessons, whale spotting and Polynesian dance classes all feature, but the tennis court holds a particularly special spot, tucked away within the density of the palm trees with views that make it well worth seeking out.
D Maris Bay, Türkiye
Having had the pleasure of playing padel at D Maris Bay, I can confirm the two hard tennis courts sitting adjacent are just as spectacular. With the Lux Tennis team on hand, finding a coach at any level is never a problem, and for the keener players, there is something rather special coming up: seven-time Grand Slam champion Jamie Murray is in residence from 5th to 7th August, meaning you can actually take to the court with a true champion.
Bawah Reserve, Indonesia
Set across six private islands in Indonesia's Anambas Archipelago, just over an hour's flight from Singapore, Bawah Reserve sits at the top of many an adventurer's bucket list, my own included. Working with nature rather than against it in a planet-first approach, it is perhaps no surprise that the tennis court is crafted from grass and doubles as an all-activity lawn, croquet included. Just be mindful not to hit too hard, or you may find yourself swimming after balls that have sailed into the ocean.
