9 UK Staycations Making Mother's Day Extra Special

Molly Cooper, co-founder of Curated, the world’s first tastemaker-powered booking platform, handpicks her favourite Mother’s Day staycations, each one guaranteed to bring joy to whoever you’re celebrating.

Ah parental gifting, one of life’s trickiest waters to navigate. There was a time when a wonky, glue-stick masterpiece trumped anything your paltry pocket money could buy. Then along came employment and with it the creeping sense that a “small something” was required to acknowledge the years of lifts, packed lunches and emotional admin. Cue the CFC cycle: chocolates, flowers, candles repeat. It all starts to feel as lacklustre as ‘another’ bouquet.

Meanwhile, life whizzes on. Diaries fill up. And somewhere between work and unread WhatsApps, you realise you can’t remember the last time you got some quality mum time in. So, if that sounds familiar, you’re not alone, as we’re seeing a shift away from panic-bought presents towards something really special — time together. New memories instead of reminiscing about times gone by over a tray of Hotel Chocolat.

So this Mother’s Day, we’ve rounded up some of the loveliest stays across the UK, from off-grid cabins to design-led farmhouses, all offering something that lasts longer than a bouquet.

Go on, cement your place at the top of the will with something a little different this year. You can thank us later.

Hyll

In the Cotswold countryside, Hyll invites guests to celebrate surrounded by serene architecture and rolling landscape. The design-forward rural hotel offers a seasonal gathering that blends considered hospitality with the calm of nature, creating space to slow down and reconnect. Make it simple: proper afternoon tea, a specially curated Mother’s Day menu, or a Hyll voucher that allows Mum to return whenever she chooses.

Hampton Manor

At Hampton Manor, listed in Britain’s Best Bakeries, guests can book a Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea Workshop. Led by bakery founder Min, the session teaches guests how to master teatime classics — from custard tarts to financiers — with techniques they can recreate at home. Guest can make it a full escape with a Sunday Sleepover, including Sweet Sounds (vinyl and cake) and Swig, a complimentary wine tasting. Dinner can be added at Kynd’s Supper Club is also available.

Penally Abbey

On Sunday 15th March, Penally Abbey in Pembrokeshire will host a special Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea overlooking the coast. Pastry chef Lindzi will prepare freshly baked sweet treats and classic finger sandwiches, served with endless tea and coffee and a complimentary glass of fizz for every mum. Tables are available from 1.30pm at £35 per person, offering an elegant celebration in one of Wales’ most charming seafront hotels.

Re Cabins

Re Cabins in Hertfordshire, a woodland retreat designed around meaningful connection, is extending Mother’s Day beyond a single Sunday. The brand is offering 15% off stays gifted to a parent taking place before the end of April at its flagship cabin, alongside complimentary early check-in and late checkout for mother-daughter bookings during this period. Gift cards are also available providing a considered option for mothers in need of uninterrupted rest in nature.

Ein Cynefin

In North Wales, the charming Ein Cynefin honours the almost mythologised Welsh “Mam” — the backbone of home and community — with its “Mam Goes Free” initiative (exclusive to Curated Spaces). For the weekend of 13th–15th March, guests can book the entire five-bedroom house for two nights at a discount, with one bedroom complimentary and a late checkout of 5pm on Sunday to ensure a truly restorative stay.

Links House

In the Scottish Highlands, Links House in Dornoch presents its Highland Heart Offer, an indulgent two-night experience designed for gifting. The stay includes dinner for two in MARA on one evening, a luxury Ava Innes Cashmere gift box, Ishga spa products and an Alasdair Dickson candle featuring the hotel’s signature scent. Guests may also select a curated experience during their stay, such as a whisky tasting at Carnegie Whisky Cellars, archery and axe throwing, or a candle workshop. Links House will also host a special Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea and is introducing a new concept series, The Five Senses Anteroom Experience, featuring immersive partner-led weekends and special dinners throughout the year.

Mason & Fifth

At Mason & Fifth, Westbourne Park, guests can “Give Mum the Night Off” with a Mother’s Day weekend stay in a Classic Studio (13th–15th March). The package includes a bouquet from Sage Flowers on arrival, access to the pool, sauna and steam room, and breakfast before checkout. Canal Restaurant will serve a dedicated Mother’s Day set menu on Sunday 15th March, with both regular and vegetarian options available.

Priory Wareham

In Dorset, The Priory Wareham will host an elegant Mother’s Day celebration within its historic riverside setting, offering seasonal dining in one of the region’s most romantic heritage properties.

The Queen's Arms

In Somerset, The Queen’s Arms will host an extended Mother’s Day Sunday lunch, with its seasonal menu served until 4pm to allow families more time to gather and relax together. All mothers dining on the day will also receive a small gift.
