6 Simple Hacks To "Own Your Health" In 2026

Feeling stressed, stagnant or depleted? According to Chinese Medicine, the solution may be simpler than you think.

Owning your health in 2026 is about going back to basics. We’re surrounded by endless advice on supplements, wellness trends and diets, yet the foundations of health are often overlooked. In reality, true wellness can be surprisingly simple.

Many of us are stressed, exhausted and disconnected. Our food is over-processed, movement is no longer a priority, air quality is poor and time spent in nature is limited. It’s no surprise that imbalance is now normal. This is where Chinese Medicine is here to help. Its focus has always been on prevention, with healthy circulation at the core. In fact, up to 80% of illness is linked to poor circulation. So the first thing to focus on is simply getting things moving again.

Think of your body like a phone: it needs charging with small energy top ups throughout the day. These moments replenish what is known in Chinese Medicine as your ‘qi’, or life force, helping you stay energised and resilient. Hardly any of us have time for lengthy treatments, so these quick, restorative rituals fit seamlessly into your daily life, supporting sleep, digestion, stress and more.

I recommend beginning with these three steps:

Breathe

To own your health, start with the breath, the most powerful self-healing tool we have. We breathe in and out around 22,000 times a day, so even small improvements can have a big impact. Deep, diaphragmatic breathing is a cornerstone of self-care, instantly calming the nervous system. The exercise below slows the heart rate and oxygenates the blood within moments. Set an hourly reminder (I swear by the Mindfulness Bell app). When it sounds, breathe deeply into your lower belly: inhale for four, hold for four, exhale for four, hold for four.

Move

Movement is the fastest way to invigorate circulation. Modern life is largely sedentary, which can cause energy to stagnate in the body. Shaking your body from head to toe is one of the simplest ways to counter this. An all-over body shake gives circulation an immediate kickstart, helping blood and energy flow more freely. Think of it like a snow globe, gently dislodging anything that’s been sitting still.

Schedule

One of the most overlooked pillars of health is planning. I now actively schedule empty space into my diary for self-care. We block out time for meetings and calls, so why not do the same for meals, movement and self-care? Last year, my New Year’s resolution was to walk 10,000 steps a day. I only achieved this because I scheduled time to walk into my diary.

Other simple hacks I recommend:

Tapping

Most of us don’t have the time to wake up first thing, take long walks or move our bodies as much as we’d like. That’s why quick, effective practices are essential. Tapping is a simple way to boost circulation fast, helping to energise the body and get things moving. By gently tapping all over the body, using a loosely clenched fist or The Hayo’u Method Bamboo Body Tapper, you can invigorate circulation and your energy levels in minutes.

Brushing

Gentle body brushing with a soft brush is both relaxing and highly effective for supporting circulation. It stimulates the lymphatic system, helping your body eliminate toxins and support immunity. Facial brushing is also a staple in my skincare routine. It’s the first thing I do every day, it helps remove dead skin cells, reduce puffiness and leaves my skin feeling instantly refreshed.

Foot Bathing

In Chinese Medicine, foot bathing is one of the most powerful ways to support detoxification, as key energy channels connected to the organs begin and end in the feet. With over 60 acupuncture points in each foot, this simple practice has a profound effect on the whole body. All you need is a bowl of warm water and five minutes. Soaking the feet helps rebalance circulation and energy, making it especially effective before bed to support restful sleep.

Remember, your health isn’t defined by one meal or a single workout. It’s built through the small choices you make. Those moments add up. These simple practices are here to support you own your health without pressure, stress or the need to spend a fortune.
