How Acupuncture Helped Me Come Back To Myself

By
We often talk about the immediate effects of treatments, the easing of shoulders, the glow of skin, and the inner calm that can come from just a few minutes on the treatment bed. But it’s the long-term effects that create true change, an experience few know better than Sarah Bradden.

There was a time in my life when survival was all I knew. I had two small children, nowhere to live, and a body collapsing under the strain of years in an abusive relationship — stress, trauma, and responsibility. I was homeless, terrified, and trying to hold everything together with no energy left to hold myself.

My intestines were inflamed, my hormones in chaos, my skin covered in abscesses and cystic acne. Every cell in my body was screaming for safety. But when you are in survival mode, safety feels like a luxury and self-care an impossible dream.

I remember sitting on the floor of a temporary room one night, both children asleep beside me, feeling completely broken. That moment became the beginning of everything. When you reach the edge of what the body and spirit can endure, something within you begins to search for a different way to live.

Then, I found acupuncture. The first time a needle touched my skin, I felt my breath drop lower than it had in years. For a brief moment, my nervous system stopped fighting. My body whispered, “you are safe”. That single whisper became the foundation of my recovery.

From that point, I began to rebuild slowly, quietly, cell by cell. My nervous system started to calm, my energy returned, and my skin began to heal. More than anything, I started to feel connected to myself again. The process of healing my body became a spiritual practice. And so, through that experience, I developed the Bradden Method — my tailor-made treatment, often described as a “spiritual reset and facelift”. It is the culmination of everything I learned through Traditional Chinese Medicine, energy therapy, and advanced skin science. But more than that, it is a map back to you, the real you.

When the body lives in constant fight or flight, it cannot heal. Blood leaves the skin and gut to fuel defence. Inflammation rises, hormones lose rhythm, and intuition shuts down. The first step to restoring beauty, vitality, or clarity is to bring the body back into calm.

Every treatment I now give begins with that reset. Through acupuncture, light frequencies, breath, and intuitive touch, I invite the body to trust again. When it does, everything reorganises itself. The body releases tension, the face warms, the heart steadies, and the spirit re-emerges.

The transformation that follows is not cosmetic. It is cellular. It is what happens when the nervous system feels safe enough to repair.

The Bradden Method is my way of showing that we can all come back — from burnout, from trauma, from homelessness, from the feeling that life has taken everything. Because healing is not about becoming someone new; it’s about remembering who you were before the world hardened you. You can rebuild from nothing. You can find beauty again, not just on the surface but deep inside the body where safety, light, and soul begin to glow together.
